(Drive in, Fly out) | REF: TZ.SAF.02

Forget the dry, dusty plains you’ve seen in documentaries. This is Tanzania reborn. Our 8-Day Africa Safari Green Season invites you into a vibrant, living emerald paradise, where the wilderness pulses with life, and every scene is painted in lush, breathtaking hues. This isn’t just a safari; it’s an immersion into the season of plenty, where abundant rain transforms the landscape into a spectacular theatre of life, culminating in the awe-inspiring Great Migration spectacle.

This journey is thoughtfully designed to connect you deeply with Tanzania’s iconic wilderness while honoring our commitment to sustainable travel—giving back to the communities that make these wild places a home.

Why The Green Season is the Ultimate Secret

  • A Photographer’s Dream: Vibrant green backdrops, dramatic skies, and lush vegetation create stunning, crowd-free photography.

  • Prime Wildlife Viewing: With abundant food and water, animals are relaxed, active, and often surrounded by adorable newborns. Predators are on the move, taking advantage of the plenty.

  • The Great Migration in Ndutu: From November to March, the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu area become the stage for over a million wildebeest and zebra—a truly phenomenal concentration of life.

  • Exclusive Rhinoceros Sightings: The Ngorongoro Crater’s lush green pastures make the elusive black rhino more visible and active than in any other season.

Day 1: Arrival

When you arrive at the Kilimanjaro International airport, you will be met by your safari driver guide who will drive you an hour to Arusha, where you will spend a peaceful night at Tumbili lodge, a well-deserved retreat after a long flight. Overnight – Tumbili Lodge (Bed & Breakfast Basis) https://www.tumbili-lodges.com/

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire

After your leisurely breakfast, our office representative and your safari guide will give a short orientation of the safari. You will start your journey from Arusha to Tarangire National Park with a packed lunch for your first wildlife adventure. The drive to Tarangire takes about 2–2.5-hours. Along the way, we will make a short visit to the primary school to deliver some learning materials, such as exercise books, pencils, and pens, one of the ways to motivate learning. After the school visit, you will continue to Tarangire Park. The park is home to a variety of wildlife and bird species, as well as elephants. After lunch in the park, you will spend a couple of hours enjoying a game drive. Dinner & overnight – Tarangire Safari Lodge (Full Board Basis) https://www.tarangiresafarilodge.com/

Day 3: Tarangire Park

Another day in wildlife paradise! Start your day with an early breakfast and then explore wildlife in the morning light of an African sunrise. The wild animals enjoy mornings and evenings due to cooler temperatures. During the afternoon heat (38 C/100.4 F), wildlife is less active, a typical behavior that helps them conserve their energy. You will get another chance to visit the park to see more fascinating wildlife sights. When you build up an appetite, you’ll have lunch in the park; after lunch, you’ll continue the game drive in the park for a couple of hours. Tarangire Park covers 2600 square kilometers and has one of the most dense populations of elephants in the northern tourist circuit of the country. Dinner & overnight – Tarangire Safari Lodge (Full Board Basis) https://www.tarangiresafarilodge.com/

Day 4: Tarangire – Lake Manyara

After your leisurely breakfast, you’ll depart with a packed lunch and enjoy a game drive on the way to Lake Manyara Park. Along the way, you will stop at the Mto wa Mbu village, where you will spend an hour walking the village to learn of the local ways of life. After the village walk, you will continue the drive. Lake Manyara Park is smaller than the Tarangire, and is quite different. Its habitat provides denser thickets since it has ground water forest similar to the rain forest. This kind of habitat is home to beautiful birds like Ross Turaco and Hartlaub’s Turaco, but you need to have an eagle eye to spot them. Flamingoes are abundant alongside an amazing variety of bird species. Don’t be surprised to see huge troops of baboons as the park has a large population. After lunch in the park, you will carry on with the game drive for a couple of hours. Dinner & overnight – Ang’ata Camp (Full Board basis) https://www.angatacamps.com/ngorongoro

Day 5: Crater Tour

Start your day with an early breakfast and leave with packed lunch for a game drive to the Ngorongoro crater. It will take about an hour to drive from the lodge to the crater floor. The area is great for its diversity of flora and fauna and is one of the few places left in the world that is home to the endangered black rhinoceros. Green season (wet season) is the best time to see the rhinoceros due to greater pasture all over the park. They are more easily found than in the dry season, when good pasture is reduced. After lunch in the park, you will carry on with the game drive for a couple of hours. Dinner & overnight – Ang’ata Camp (Full Board Basis) https://www.angatacamps.com/ngorongoro

Day 6: Ngorongoro – Serengeti

Your day starts after a leisurely breakfast. You will leave with a packed lunch for the Serengeti National Park. Driving across the Ngorongoro highland (not the crater) to the Serengeti Park takes 2–2.5-hours. Ndutu is an area where you will stay for two nights. This park lies between the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The vast migratory herd of wildlife settle here every year from November to late March due to greater pasture and habitat. Why greater pasture & habitat? Volcanic activities took place in the Ngorongoro over a million years ago; the ashes were blown up to these areas and made the soil rich in essential minerals and fertility, making the pasture good and rich in protein. The habitat is an open plain, which is good for the wellbeing of wildebeest and zebra. Lunch in the park when you build up an appetite. After lunch, you will continue with a game drive for a couple of hours. Dinner & overnight – Ndutu Lodge (Full Board Basis) https://www.ndutu.com/

Day 7: Serengeti

Start your day early taking a packed breakfast to explore the Southern Serengeti with the morning light, searching for the great migration. The great migration is a phenomenal sight, with a huge concentration of wildlife as far as your eyes can see. Predators venture out to look for food, as prey species are abundant almost everywhere. Breakfast in the bush when you build up an appetite. After breakfast you will continue with the game drive for a couple of hours. After lunch at the camp, take a siesta time until late afternoon when the sun cools down. Leave again for the late afternoon drive for a couple of hours to enjoy the evening sightings of wildlife and sunset pictures over the Serengeti. Dinner & overnight – Ndutu Lodge https://www.ndutu.com/

Day 8: Serengeti – Arusha

After your leisurely breakfast, drive to the Ndutu Airstrip for your hour flight back to Arusha. In Arusha, you will be picked up from the airport and driven to Tumbili Lodge for lunch and day use room. In the late evening, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.

Our guides will be sharing information on how the different creatures play their part in maintaining the natural ecosystems. ” Joshua Monah

WHY IS MY SAFARI MORE EXPENSIVE WITH LESS PEOPLE IN THE GROUP?

Safaris are a mixture of fixed costs for the tour company (JAfrica)  ie staff, vehicle, food, and external costs which come in the shape of accommodation and park fees etc.

When pricing a safari we divide our fixed cost by the number of people in the safari truck to work out a cost per PAX, then we add on the accomodation and park fees.

This means that the fixed costs are shared by the people travelling, so the more people in the group, the less the individual is required to pay. If you have any quieries regarding this or anything else about your safari trip to Africa please feel free to contact us.

Please call or email for child pricing, depending on the numbers in your group we can negotiate better room rates with the lodges.
