Arusha National Park

Nestled in northern Tanzania, Arusha National Park offers a unique and breathtaking contrast to the vast plains of the Serengeti. Its scenic environment is a stunning mosaic: the lush, green slopes of Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest peak, rise dramatically above acacia woodlands and tranquil, mirror-like lakes.

Unlike many larger parks, Arusha allows exploration on foot, offering exceptional walking safaris and canoe trips on the serene Momella Lakes. Here, you can witness flamingos wading in the shallow waters, their pink hues contrasting with the blue backdrop of the mountain.

The park is also a haven for wildlife, including graceful giraffes, herds of zebra and buffalo, and the elusive colobus monkey swinging through the forest canopy. While elephant and leopard are present, the park is celebrated for its incredible birdlife and intimate, immersive landscapes. A visit often includes a drive through the mystical Ngurdoto Crater, a lush, forested caldera often called a “mini-Ngorongoro.” From alpine heights to tranquil lakeshores, Arusha National Park provides a beautifully compact and scenically diverse safari experience.
